The refined analytic torsion was introduced by M.Braverman and T. Kappeler as a canonical refinement of analytic torsion on odddimensional closed manifolds. In this talk I will describe two newboundary conditions by using the Hodge decomposition ofthe space of the complex flat bundle valued differential forms on the boundaryof an odd dimensional compact manifold and its application to the constructionof the refined analytic torsion on odd dimensional compact manifolds withboundary. Then Iwill discuss the gluing formula for the refined analytic torsion for an acyclicHermitian connection.
